How it works!
Welcome to Sal the Tax Gal—your go-to for year-round, virtual tax preparation services! Here’s a step-by-step guide to walk you through our easy and convenient process:
Here's what to expect:
1. Book Your Appointment
· Start by scheduling a phone appointment through our online scheduling system here!
2. Complete the Forms
-
After booking, you’ll need to fill out our Tax Preparation Questionnaire and sign the Authorization Forms. These forms allow me to access your tax information and e-file your return once completed.
-
The link to these forms will be included in the confirmation email you receive after you complete your booking.
Please Note: I cannot begin preparing your taxes until these forms are signed. It's important to complete them as soon as possible to keep everything moving smoothly and ensure there are no delays in processing your return.

3. Submit Your Documents
-
After completing the online Tax Preparation Questionnaire and signing the Authorization Forms, simply scan and email your tax documents to: Sally@SaltheTaxGal.com.
Please Note: If you have a lot of paperwork or run a business, or you are unable to scan the tax documents, I can arrange to pick up your documents in person—please note that this service is available depending on your location. Just let me know during our initial phone meeting if you need a document pickup!

4. Initial Consultation
-
Our initial phone meeting usually takes around 20 minutes. During this time, we’ll discuss your tax situation and review the documents you’ve submitted.
-
We’ll also schedule a time to go over your completed return. You can choose to meet in person or discuss it over the phone.
5. Tax Return Preparation
-
Based on the information you’ve provided and CRA’s records, I’ll prepare your tax return and ensure everything is accurate and ready for filing. To review the tax return, you can choose to meet in person or discuss it over the phone.
6. Payment & E-filing
-
Once your tax return is complete, you’ll review it, and payment will be due at that time. After receiving payment, I’ll e-file your return to the CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) and send you a CRA confirmation number as proof of submission.
-
CRA will process your return and send you a Notice of Assessment to your home address, or if you have an online account with them, you can access it through the CRA "My Account" portal.
7. Deadline
-
The deadline for filing your taxes is April 30, 2025. If you are self employed, business owner, the deadline for filing is June 15th, however, if there is a balance due to CRA, interest will be calculated by CRA as of April 30th.

Make sure to get all your documents to me in time!
